Srirang Athalye

Group President

Mr. Srirang Athalye boasts an extensive professional background and career spanning 34 years in various entrepreneurial, industry and consulting roles. He holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce and a master’s in management studies, both from Mumbai University and is an alumnus of Somaiya Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai. 

Currently serving as the Group President of Aurum Ventures and a Non-Executive Director at Aurum PropTech Ltd., he has made significant contributions in the field of mergers and acquisitions across diverse sectors such as manufacturing, infrastructure, telecommunications, consulting and real estate. He is known for his expertise in utilizing Creative Problem Solving (CPS) and Innovation-Systematic Inventive Thinking (SIT) methodologies to drive organizational performance. 

In 2021, he was elected Vice Chairman of EPCES (Export Promotion Council for EOU & SEZ) in recognition of his exceptional expertise. 

Throughout his career, he has worked with notable companies such as The Bombay Dyeing & Mfg. Co. Ltd., International Wool Secretariat, JT Mobiles, Mafatlal Industries Ltd., Tasty Bites Eatables Ltd., Exatt Technologies, SFK A&G Investment Banking and Banyan Infrastructure. 

He has been associated with Aurum since 2001, where he has successfully established and managed various functions within the group. He played a crucial role as the Chief Strategy Officer and Founder Director of ReNew Power during its incubation period by Aurum Ventures. 

Recently, he joined the Board of Directors of Aurum PropTech, formerly known as Majesco Ltd. In addition to his professional achievements, he actively leads philanthropic initiatives at Aurum and serves as a trustee of the Shanta Durga Charitable Trust, contributing to his family’s philanthropic endeavours. 

Saurabh Sangekar

Mr. Saurabh Sangekar brings an extensive professional background of over 32 years, characterised by the execution of large-scale projects, creating infrastructure and completing high-value acquisitions with innovative structuring. He has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Dharwad University, Karnataka, India.  

He has garnered profound expertise in the planning and creation of telecom infrastructure for semi-government and private organisations, which includes VSATs, video conferencing, radios, Optic Fibre Infrastructure and Metropolitan Area Network with (FTH). 

Furthermore, he has been actively involved in acquisitions through ARC and has effectively overseen significant acquisitions both within India and internationally. 

He has extensive expertise in the aggregation of large tracts of land for various business verticals. He spearheaded the successful management of Aurum’s Mining portfolio across Africa and South America, showcasing his leadership and operational prowess. Throughout the growth journey of Aurum Real Estate, he has played a pivotal role in multiple aspects, including strategic planning, feasibility studies, implementation, legal and compliance matters, as well as the adept management of regulatory risks. 

Moreover, he has significantly contributed to the business development initiatives of AREDL in Goa. 

Kunal Karan

PropTech

Mr. Kunal Karan is the CFO at Aurum PropTech. Holding the titles of Chartered Accountant and CPA. He obtained his master’s degree from the University of Calcutta and he is a certified Chartered Accountant from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a CPA from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  

Kunal possesses profound expertise in accounting and finance. Prior to his role at Aurum PropTech, he served as a Group Manager of Finance at Mastek Ltd. and as a Deputy General Manager at Reliance Communications.  

His skill set encompasses diverse areas such as the maintenance and finalisation of accounts, working capital management, profit monitoring, taxation, building internal financial controls, etc. With a proven track record in business restructuring, including mergers and acquisitions.  

He is well-versed in the consolidation of accounts in accordance with Indian GAAP, US GAAP, and IFRS norms. 

Jayant Bodkhe

RealEstate

Mr. Jayant Bodhke is an experienced specialist serving as the Project Coordinator and Value Engineering expert at Aurum Ventures. With 2 years of extensive experience as a Site Engineer in Palais Royale, Worli and over a decade of dedicated service at Aurum since April 5, 2010, he brings a wealth of expertise to his role. He holds a diploma in Civil Engineering from Fr. Agnel Vashi, showcasing his strong educational background in the field. 

His skill set includes exceptional relationship-building abilities and clear communication skills, which contribute to his effective collaboration with teams. Within the organization, he bears the responsibility of ensuring timely project completion while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. His focus primarily lies in the areas of Design, Estimation, Budgeting, Planning and Project Execution. 

He has achieved notable accomplishments throughout his career, delivering successful projects such as 7 Marine Drive, Aurum Q Parć Master Planning, Q1, Q2 and Residential Towers Phase 1 (R1, R2 and R3). These achievements serve as a testament to his dedication and proficiency in his field, solidifying his reputation as a valued professional in the industry. 

Shrinivas Deshpande

Family Office

Mr. Shrinivas Deshpande is a highly skilled and dedicated Finance Controller at Aurum Ventures. With a solid background, he has amassed 17 years of experience in various industries ranging from Manufacturing, Consulting (Project feasibility studies, Valuations) to Real Estate. He holds an MBA in Finance and a Bachelor of Engineering, showcasing his strong educational foundation. He has been working at Aurum since December 2011, where he has held positions in Finance & Project Management (7 Marine Drive and Q Parć). Additionally, he has also been involved in Property Management at Q Parć.  

He contributes greatly to the team with his exceptional skills in fund raising, liaising with banks and government authorities, credit rating (project and entity level), new project due diligence, strategy formulation, and people management.  

His responsibilities within the organization focus on fund raising, liaising with banks and government authorities, and developing revenue optimization strategies in collaboration with the Chairman and Group CFO. 

Notably, he has achieved several noteworthy milestones during his tenure, including:

Onkar Shetye

PropTech

Mr. Onkar Shetye is an alumnus of the IIM Ahmedabad and has also done his master’s from the prestigious Russel Group of Universities, UK. He has 16 years of multisectoral experience and has driven strategic and transformational initiatives at multiple organizations across industries like Energy, Real Estate, Mineral Exploration and Information Technology. He has worked with diverse teams across India, Europe and Africa. He brings a large toolbox to the table and works with teams to validate, catalyze and scale new ventures by refining competitive dynamics, honing their business plans and refining go-to-market strategies. 

In his present role, he has worked on various functional areas like Strategy, Operations, Revenue Management and Business Development. He has successfully managed multifunctional teams reporting to him and supervised Project Management for On Time in Budget implementation. He has been part of Aurum Ventures Group since 2012. In his previous roles at Aurum, he has been the Chief Revenue Officer handling all the portfolios including commercial leasing as well as Sales and also held the position of Chief Operating Officer of Aurum’s Asset Management portfolio. 

Sonia Jain

Compliance

Mrs. Sonia Jain is a highly accomplished Company Secretary and Compliance Officer at Aurum, renowned for her extensive expertise in the real estate industry. With a remarkable background that includes internships with a merchant banking firm and PCS, she has dedicated the past 8 years to Aurum, continuously expanding her knowledge and honing her skills in the realm of real estate.  

Her educational qualifications include a Company Secretary certification from ICSI, a Master of Commerce degree from Mumbai University and completion of an M&A course from BSE Institute Ltd. She possesses a wide range of skills, including agile and exceptional planning and organisational abilities. She has handled compliance matters for 25 group companies independently. She has also successfully managed activities outside her domain, such as marketing and sales. 

Her role in Aurum lies in ensuring adherence to corporate compliances, elevating the bar of Governance, compliance frameworks and fostering strong shareholder relations. 

Alongside her professional pursuits, she indulges in her interests and passions as an avid traveller, creative creature and voracious reader. 

Vivek Samant

RealEstate

Mr. Vivek Samant is an accomplished professional as the Head of Procurement at Aurum Ventures. With a strong educational background, he graduated in commerce from the esteemed Mumbai University and further did MBA in Material Management. 

He holds the esteemed position of Assistant Vice President (AVP) in procurement, excelling in the fields of real estate, hospitality and malls. 

Boasting an impressive career and spanning his experience over 38 years. 

Throughout his career, he has worked with notable companies such as Oberoi Hotels Lokhandwala, The Regent Group, Peninsula Land Ltd, HCC and Lavasa. 

He was also successful in commissioning, construction and design process of Crossroads Mall in Mumbai, India’s first mall.  

Sandeep Poduval

RealEstate

Mr. Sandeep Poduval is an architect at Aurum, holding a G.D. Arch degree from the Institute of Environmental Design in Vallabh Vidyanagar, Gujarat. He has been an integral part of Aurum since 2016.

Sandeep’s role at Aurum entails assisting all execution teams with drawing and design clarification and coordination requirements alongside consultants. He ensures that the design intent is effectively carried through from concept to completion.

In his current role, Sandeep ensures project delivery aligns with design intent, continually refining it for optimal results. His dedication to organizational goals earned him cash awards and he has received accolades from clients for his creativity in manual design.

His skills encompass SketchUp, Photoshop, Corel Draw and AutoCAD, enabling him to create and visualize architectural designs with precision and creativity.

With abundant experience in architecture, Sandeep has worked with renowned architects in Mumbai, including Arch Salim Dawawala, Arch Pronit Nath and Prem Nath. He has also worked with Edifice Architects, contributing to the presentations of various corporate office projects. Furthermore, Sandeep played a significant role in the in-house Design Coordination Team at the Phoenix Marketcity Mumbai project from concept to completion. He coordinated with international and Indian architects, managed multiple consultants and vendors, generated diverse information, obtained approvals from Liasoning Architects, and resolved on-site execution issues.

Outside of his professional endeavours, Sandeep explores various artistic expressions, including oils and acrylic paintings, digital audio workstation (DAW) Reason Studios for soundscapes, creative writing, blogging, reading, and exploring the potential of AI.

Amrita Deora

Innovation & Design

Amrita Deora spearheads innovation and design across the group. With an education background in design from Oxford University, and her own entrepreneurial venture: The Designera, India’s first pop-art gallery – she has been at the forefront of technology and design. As part of the second generation of Aurum, she guides sustainable development, branding, technological innovations and building design.
